3Putt > Arriving at the train station in Bacharach, Germany, in the Rhine Valley. We changed trains a few times to get here, first a high-speed "ICE" train from Amsterdam to Cologne, then a smaller train from Cologne to Koblenz, then a smaller train from Koblenz to Bacharach--actually, for us, 2 trains on that leg because we got off at the wrong station! Fortunately, a local was very helpful in showing us how to read the schedule posted at the station and we only had to wait about 20 minutes for the next train to Bacharach.
3Putt > We felt like we were disturbing the whole town as we pulled our luggage on wheels through the cobblestone streets of Bacharach, to arrive at the Hotel Altkolnischer. Here is our cozy room there.
3Putt > The best part was the balcony!
3Putt > The view looking left from our balcony. Charming, no?
3Putt > And the view to the right.
3Putt > Tom wanted to bring home one of these "Baby Benz" home as a souvenir! They were everywhere--turns out, they are popular rental cars.
3Putt > A narrow side street in Bacharach. The tunnel leads to the river.
3Putt > It looked like someone lives in this tower that remains in Bacharach. To the right, castle ruins.
3Putt > After a while, one castle looked like the next...I think this is Maus Castle.
